Optimist Design Babycake

5/8" stud using a pancake for support

Around the world, across the nation, and in your face, we comb the world in search of the slickest new toys and this time we have found a beauty!

Manufactured in North Hollywood by Optimist Design, the Babycake is the best thing to come out of the oven since the Jelly Donut. It is an 11.5" square,1" thick, piece of laminated plywood with a spring loaded 5/8" utility pin affixed within it. The pin is on a swivel so it can be locked horizontally, within a channel cut into the board (for storage or transport), or vertically, for mounting lights or anything else that fits on a 5/8" pin. Lacking imagination? I can help. Voila!

unknownThe is an animated GIF so you can see the Babycake in all it's glory! But wait, there's more. In a pinch, the Babycake can be used as a trivet or carving board (very useful around this time of year), or in the unlikely event of a water landing, your Babycake can be used as a flotation device. In the "Credit Where Credit Is Due" department, 100% of it for discovering this gem goes to Brian Ferguson who came across it accidentally and is adamant in his stance that he was doing legitimate research when he typed "Baby Cakes", into Google. Methinks he doth protest too much.

Anyway, have a happy Thanksgiving and as you reflect on all we have to be thankful for, be sure to send a very hearty thanks to Verizon Wireless for finally capping Paul Chrisope's minutes.

No harm , no fowl.
