Remember about oh...40 years ago when you had just
come of drinking age and at 2am the lights came on
for last call? Whoa, they were bright. Well if we
could step into the wayback machine, today we'd be
able to soften the blow.
VR's newest toys come in the form of a pretty slick dimmer. It's sort of a no name brand and at first glance you might think he bought them from a guy on the corner in a trench coat saying, "pssst, pssst, wanna buy a dimmer?"
On closer inspection they are a 15 Amp box with a 3 position switch (variable, off, full) and a dimmer knob. At 15 amps they are good for more then one light at a time. Seems they started life as a way to make drills into variable speed tools and morphed into light dimmers. Someone was thinking. These things are 5.5" x 2.5" x 2" and can fit into most light kits. They seem to work very well. So well that Jose, ever the artist, took one home to incorporate into one of his performance pieces. No one is sure if he achieved his desired results but he's gonna save a fortune on hair gel.
