Panasonic AG- HVX 200

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?

A: Brad was chasing him with a knife and fork.

Before you call the ASPCA, he meant no harm. In fact he was going to give that chicken the starring role in his new feature film, "No Parm, No fowl."

The film was shot entirely with VR's new Panasonic AG- HVX 200.

This handheld DVCPRO HD P2 camera-recorder is designed to meet emerging needs in HD content production. It debuts as Panasonic's first HD video product to use P2, the cutting-edge memory recording device that has the potential to revolutionize the entire production paradigm. The AG-HVX200 records HD, either 1080i or 720p video acquired by a new optical system and high-performance digital signal processor onto a P2 card using the broadcasting DVCPRO HD codec. This system achieves a level of image quality that conventional handheld HD cameras simply cannot match, while also supporting HD/SD multi-format and multi-codec recording capabilities.

With the camera we also have a pair of 8 Gig P2 cards which according to Panasonic specs should yield a combined 32 minutes of record time in DVCPRO HD 720P/30PN mode. We can't confirm this though. Brad chased the chicken down in only 18 minutes. It was hard to tell who was happier when the chase was over, but both were last seen Saturday night, entering Roma D' Italia. I suspect it may have been the chicken's swan song.

As usual, questions will be entertained, but not seriously.

Ciao.

Brad chimes in with an update: We have accesorized the HVX to the hilt - 16GB P2 cards, Citidisc Hard Drives, the P2 Field Storage/Transfer unit, wide angle lens adapter and RED ROCK micro M2 lens system. And yes, I caught the chicken, fried it with some salt and pepper and it was tasty!
